- Item #: i_302131Bottle Size: 750mlRuché (roo kay) is an Italian red wine variety from Piedomont that is largely used in making Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato, a small denomination of production that was elevated to DOCG status in 2011. It's been grown in the area for at least one hundred years but has only recently been marketed and consumed outside of Piedmont.
The sheer quantity of fruit and floral notes in the bouquet is magnificent. This Ruche' is one of the most intensely luscious and majestically luxuriant wines produced in Italy today. Ripe red fruit with notes of cocoa, lavender, soft berry, and a long, silky, embracing finish. A wine that once encountered will always be remembered passionately.
Italian wine critic, Luca Maroni, reviews wines according to his own sensorial system, which records the overall pleasure and drinkability of a wine. He's a big fan of Montalbera's Ruche', regularly placing it among his favorite wines of Italy.
LUCA MARONI 99 POINTS - "The delicate colors, the intriguing scents, that beautiful feeling of softness. these are the characteristics of the best Ruché, perfectly synthesized in the "Selection Bricco Montalbera" thanks to a skillful winemaking capable of assembling the best grapes of the harvest with a small percentage of passito grapes. Montalbera's Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG "Laccento" is a wine of great depth and charm, enveloping and generous."
