This is a new varietal release for us, motivated in part by our interest in comparing a wildflower honey from Oregon with one of our own Bay Area wildflower honeys. Both honeys are dark straw in color and aromatic but whereas the California wildflower meads have herbal and earthy notes, the Oregon wildflower has a hay straw aroma and fruity apricot and green apple flavors.
