ROSE ROCK PINOT NOIR
In 2013, the Drouhin family purchased the Roserock property; an extraordinary vineyard at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills, in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Ancient volcanic soils and an ideal elevation range produce classic cool-climate Pinot Noirs that evoke a true sense of place. During the warm growing season, ocean breezes funneled through Oregon's Coast Range blow along the Van Duzer Corridor every evening, chilling this part of the Eola-Amity Hills more than ten degrees cooler than northern Willamette Valley sub-appellations. These maritime winds make for fruit that's lively with acidity and distinct in its freshness of flavor.

As a testament to the Drouhin family's commitment to sustainable viticulture that supports soil health and biodiversity, the property is LIVE certified. LIVE (Low Input Viticulture & Enology) meets strict international standards for environmentally and socially responsible winegrowing.

2023 has turned out to be another outstanding vintage in the Willamette Valley! This is looking to be a classically-styled vintage with high quality, wonderful aromatics, and fresh fruit flavors. The wines need just a bit more air than the 2021s, but that's not a bad thing. We were more than happy with the 2023 Roserock from the moment we pulled the cork, but once we let the wine sit in our glasses for 15 minutes, the aromatics from this wine began to explode with nuance!

WINE SPECTATOR 94 POINTS - "Impeccably structured yet sleekly elegant, with raspberry and blueberry flavors accented by savory tea, stony mineral and dusky spice notes as this gathers tension toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2033."

FOXEN CHARDONNAY
Bill Wathen and Dick Dore have been making wine together since 1985, when they founded Foxen Vineyards and Winery at the historic Rancho Tinaquaic in Northern Santa Barbara County. Since that time their dedication has remained the same: the creation of small production, sustainably-farmed, vineyard-focused wines using a straightforward and minimalist approach to winemaking. They seem to be doing all the things right, as they now have an amazing following, and their tasting room has become a Santa Barbara Wine Country destination!

Arguably the most famous vineyard in Santa Barbara County, Bien Nacido is one of the coolest wine growing climates in California, the terrain is a combination of rocky soils and ocean influence, and receives a steady wash of cool marine air and warm afternoons. This makes for generous fruit in the wine, while retaining freshness and intense flavors. These Chardonnay vines were originally planted in 1973 on its own roots in Block UU at the eastern edge of the Bien Nacido Vineyard. The grapes are hand-harvested grapes are gently whole-cluster pressed and fermented 100% in barrel.

This vineyard has been named one of the "Top Grand Cru Vineyards in California" by Wine Enthusiast, and one of the "Top Five California Vineyards" by the Wall Street Journal! Plus, this is a SIP Certified (Sustainability In Practice) vineyard.

ANTONIO GALLONI 94 POINTS - "The 2022 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard Block UU is a deep, phenolic wine with tons of character driven by old vines planted in 1972. Powerful yet translucent, with striking character, the 2022 is compelling. Lemon confit, almond, dried flowers and chamomile open first. This is a decidedly earthy, mineral Chardonnay, with fruit more in the background."
