Drawing inspiration from the Dutch Genever style gins (which are actually more of a white whisky infused with juniper and various other herbs and botanicals), Dry Rye is a whiskey lovers gin. The warm, malty rye flavors bring spice and huge mouthfeel. Unlike its Botanivore and Terroir brethren, juniper really plays the star role in Dry Rye. This is no gin for the faint of heart as it is very bold and aggressive. The brilliant use of caraway in the recipe really brings to mind fresh rye bread where grapefruit and lime peel add a pleasant citrus note which lightens things up a bit.
