Claus Schneider's vineyards in Baden suffered some damage due to storms in 2017, but that is where help from his friends came in. Sourcing fruit from three of his fellow winemakers in the "Kaiserstuhl" (the Emperor's Chair) a stunning terraced mountain range made of volcanic soil. Schneider made a light but piercingly soulful wine, full of bright cherry, plush earth, tomato, salty minerality, finishing with fine-grained tannins. The wine was aged in neutral cask for 24 months. We secretly love this wine, as it is so pure and crazy good.
