ORGANICALLY FARMED
100% Sangiovese

This is a beautifully pure and elegant Sangiovese from the still-rising Val d'Arno di Sopra area of Tuscany (Upper Arno River Valley, south of Florence, inland from Chianti Classico). It comes from the family's historic vineyard, planted in 1947 by the grandfather of the current owners. "Here’s Bòggina, a wine turned towards the past, but at the same time a wine pushed inexorably toward the future… (because of the painstaking care we now put, unlike the past, in the slightest details of all processes, in the cellar and in the vineyards)." - WINEMAKER NOTES

VINOUS 97 POINTS - "The 2019 Sangiovese Vigna Boggina is fabulous. Bright, gracious and light on its feet, the 2019 oozes class. Crushed red berry fruit, white flowers, mint and orange peel are some of the notes that grace this wonderfully translucent Sangiovese from Petrolo. The 2019 is one of the best wines I have ever tasted here." - Antonio Galloni

JAMES SUCKLING 96 POINTS - "Very pure aromas of black cherries and fresh flowers, such as roses. Dried orange peel as well. It’s medium-bodied with a fresh and solid core of fruit and ultra-fine tannin. From organically grown grapes. It’s so delicious to drink now."

Native yeast fermented in concrete, aged 16-18 months in French oak barrels and tonneaux.
