This bottling comes from the small Pinerolese appellation in the foothills of the Alps near Mt. Monviso. It's a unique expression of Nebbiolo, it has finessed, freshly-toned aromas of floral-tinged stone fruits and red berries, with light accents of Nebbiolo's classic balsam spice, citrus peel, and iron ore accents woven in. Medium-bodied and mellow on the palate for this famously intensely-structured variety, it has a lightly unctuous mouthfeel in the finish, elegantly balanced by a tangy acidity and lightly chewy tannins. Ideal with stuffed pastas, lean red meats, and harder aged cheeses.
