We take pride in scouring the world for the best wines for you...and this is one of those times that the hard work really pays off in spades! We were one of the first stores "on the ground floor" when Jaffurs Winery first released their wines to the retail world. Flash-forward to today, and this 96-point Syrah just got released, and we were the first call from the distributor due to our years of support!

Syrah continues to be one of the most versatile grapes of the Golden State, brimming with complex and intense flavors from both warm and cool climates, and garnering high scores from critics such as Robert Parker and Wine Spectator! In fact, Wine Spectator, the most widely read wine-related periodical in the world, has stated that Syrah "now makes more great wine in more regions than any other grape in California." That's quite a bold statement, especially considering the high quality of our Cabernets and Chardonnays!

Jaffurs Wine Cellars is dedicated to producing great Rhone varietal wines with a New World independence. Founder Craig Jaffurs produced his first professional wines during the 1994 harvest, and the winery continues to carefully make wine in extremely small lots, with total production hovering around 5,000 cases annually for all wines combined! Jaffurs works closely with their growers in the Santa Ynez, Ballard Canyon, Santa Rita Hills, Los Alamos, and Santa Maria regions. Jaffurs limits vineyard yields and requires that optimal farming practices are observed.

Jaffurs Wine Cellars owns no vineyards, but purchases premium wine grapes only from the very best vineyards in Santa Barbara County. Bien Nacido is one of the truly great vineyards in the county for Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. Located in the Santa Maria Valley, the terroir is a combination of rocky soils, cool climate, abundant sunshine, and maritime influences.

Just how good is this wine? Well, this newly-released Jaffurs Syrah recently received 97 points from esteemed wine critic Jeb Dunnuck! But this isn't some one-trick-pony. In fact, this wine has averaged 95 points over the past four released from Jeb Dunnuck! Now that is consistency that is often reserved for wines that sell for twice or even three-times this price!

Hurry up and get this while you can...because we won't be able to get more when this is gone!

JEB DUNNUCK 97 POINTS - "The 2017 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard (there's 3% Viognier in the blend) sports a deep purple hue to go with ultra-classic aromas of blackberries, ground pepper, crushed violets, and bouquet garni as well as marine-like salty, gamey notes. It's awesome on the palate as well – full-bodied, seamless, flawlessly balanced, and offering just about everything you could want from Central Coast Syrah. It's going to evolve nicely for 10-12 years, although there's no need to delay gratification."
