From Clear Creek Distillery of Portland, Oregon — founded in 1985 by Steve McCarthy as Oregon's first craft distillery, and today part of Hood River Distillers. Made from 100% Golden Delicious apples grown in the Yakima Valley of Washington State, crushed and fermented as whole fruit in old-world eau-de-vie tradition, distilled in German-made copper pot stills fitted with a short five-plate column, then aged a minimum of 8 years in French Limousin oak casks.
Nose: A near-perfect balance of oak and fruit — baked apple and ripe orchard fruit with threads of vanilla bean and caramel.
Palate: Apple comes through loud and clear, with stewed apple, golden toffee, baking spice, and sweet vanilla.
Finish: A touch of tannin and a long, warming finish of cooked orchard fruit and polished wood.
ABV: 40% (80 Proof)
