Antonio Galloni is one of the more respected wine critics in the world. So when he gives something a notable score, people seem to take notice, and that includes us here in the industry. When he gave Cambria's 2019 Chardonnay a 94-point score, everybody took note. When the subsequent vintage received a similar 94-point score, lightning struck twice! But now we have a three-peat, as his score just came out for the new release, and Cambria has again earned an impressive 94-point score from Galloni!

Cambria's Chardonnay has been a constant favorite with consumers across the country. It is an enticing wine with great depth and range of flavors, remarkable balance, and savory finish. Sourced from the Katherine's Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, Cambria has carved out a reputation for producing lush, tropical, yet refreshing Chardonnay for 20 years. Plus, we love the fact that Cambria is woman-owned and woman-led!

In the same AVA as some other famous single vineyards, such as Bien Nacido and Sierra Madre, Cambria is in a plot of land that is heavily influenced by the ocean, from the cooling winds to their marine sediment soils. In addition, Cambria is also SIP Certified (Sustainability in Practice), which means that everything they do in the vineyard and winery is done with the intention of having as little negative impact on the land as possible.

Respected critic Antonio Galloni writes this wine "bristles with tension", and when tasting through the wines that these are "a stellar set of new releases". We took some time to run some numbers on some of Galloni's reviews, and the average price for a 94-point 2020 California Chardonnay is nearly $60.00. But this perennial favorite is currently in our store for a quaffable $15.99 per bottle…that's only a fraction of the average price for a 94-pointer!

Whether you're looking for your next favorite Chardonnay for your house, or in need of an impressive wine that doesn't break the bank for your next gathering, this Chardonnay should most definitely be on your list!

ANTONIO GALLONI 94 POINTS - "The 2021 Chardonnay Katherine's Vineyard is notable. Bright and chiseled, the 2021 bristles with tension. Citrus peel, chamomile, white flowers, mint and tangerine oil are some of the notes that grace this exquisite Santa Maria Chardonnay. Partial aging in steel keeps the flavors bright."
