Producers of Petite Sirah need to take note: there's a young gun out there who's going to show you some new moves! Winemaker Aaron Jackson is one amazing guy! He fully commits to whatever the task at hand is. So being the hardcore surfer that he is, you can imagine how dedicated to winemaking Aaron must be when he has to leave those firing Central Coast point breaks to head for the vineyards! His wines have been staples at our store for years, and it's amazing how he can make Petite Sirah taste so good, keep it complex yet easy to drink, and sell such a tasty wine for a reasonable price!

Each year, Aaron and his staff taste through every barrel one by one and select the wines to blend together into the Aaron Petite Sirah. Specifically, it's the barrels that, when tasted blind, simply jump out and wow us. However, it's never about one specific character or flavor profile, but rather those barrels that speak to us across all the different vineyards. In total, the blend is made up of 7 different vineyards, primarily in the Willow Creek and Adelaida Districts, with a small amount of fruit from the Templeton Gap District for spice. The unique terriors of the each district bring a different element to the blend.

JEB DUNNUCK 93-95 POINTS - "These latest 2021s are easily the finest wines I’ve tasted from proprietor Aaron Jackson. These are rich, powerful, classic Paso Robles reds yet they hold onto a beautiful sense of purity, and they’re an absolute joy to drink."

"A blend of 85% Petit Sirah and 15% Syrah, the 2021 Petite Sirah showed brilliantly, with a pure, layered, powerful style that stays nicely balanced. Blackberries, violets, chocolate, asphalt, and pepper are just some of its nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a great mid-palate and ripe tannins."
