Jayson Pahlmeyer's eponymous label is one of the more sought-after wines produced in the Napa Valley. After falling in love with Burgundy and almost purchasing two grand cru vineyards, Jayson was drawn to the possibility of purchasing property in California that could emulate the best from Burgundy. His then winemaker Helen Turley took notice of a vineyard in Sonoma Coast that was just down the road from her own vineyard and Helen understood well the extraordinary character of fruit this land could yield. The end result is Wayfarer, one of the more prestigious and praise-worthy estates fashioning some of the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in California! Since then, the Pahlmeyer family sold it's Napa Valley label to focus on this Sonoma estate.

Wayfarer's flagship Pinot Noir encapsulates the truest representation of their estate vineyard each vintage, a wine that can only be from one place in the world. Their ten Pinot Noir clonal selections are planted in individual blocks on both east and west facing slopes, providing myriad expressions of clone, aspect, elevation and microclimate to reveal the complex character of Wayfarer's exceptional organically farmed vineyard.

JEB DUNNUCK 97 POINTS - "A bright red ruby hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir The Estate is lifted in the glass and has a lot of fresh, bright notes of rosy perfume, grenadine, rosemary, and sweet earth. Medium-bodied, it has a vibrant energy and savory drive on the palate, with notes of salty earth and tea leaf, a light umami richness, ripe tannins, and evenly balanced acidity. It is lovely all the way through and is going to show its best if given more time in bottle. Drink 2026-2040."

ANTONIO GALLONI 96 POINTS - "The 2022 Pinot Noir The Estate is a wine of total class and understatement. Bright red-toned fruit and well-judged oak inform this sculpted, striking Pinot Noir. I especially admire the energy here. Blood orange, mint, crushed rocks, citrus and dried herbs open with a bit of time in the glass. This translucent, crystalline Pinot is, quite simply, magnificent."
