2025 is the third vintage of the Tablas Creek Alouette Grenache, a chillable red featuring the highest-toned, palest, and juiciest lots of Grenache from the vintage. Alouette means “lark” in French, with both its English language meanings: the songbird, but also something done spontaneously, or for fun.
Our grapes for this Alouette bottling were grown on their biodynamic and Regenerative Organic Certified® estate vineyard. The winery identified some of the highest-toned, palest, and juiciest lots of Grenache from the 2025 vintage they believed would be perfect for chilled, near-term drinking and supplemented these with the highest-toned lots of a few of their other red Rhône grapes. The lots for Alouette were aged in stainless steel tanks until bottling in May 2026.
A pretty, vibrant pale red. The nose is juicy and delightful, with aromas of chaparral, yellow plum, and sweet baking spices. On the palate, plum and dusty wild strawberry notes, complete with fruit, leaves, and flowers. The finish is juicy with refreshing acids and just a little tannic grip. Delicious!
