All the grapes for this wine come from Tablas Creek's biodynamically farmed vineyard. A blend of 44% Mourvedre, 43% Grenache, 9% Counoise and 4% Cinsaut, this wine has a lovely deep peach color. On the nose, a powerful combination of blood orange and juniper, spiced plum and smoky minerality. The mouth is rich with raspberry and rhubarb fruit, creamy texture, and a vibrant line of acidity that leaves a lingering impression of plum skin, rose petals, and briny sea spray. A rosé to convert people who don't think pink wines can be serious. Drink before the end of 2025.
ANTONIO GALLONI'S VINOUS MEDIA 92 POINTS - "A deep translucent ruby with orange hues, the 2024 Rosé Dianthus opens with a woodland-inspired blend of flowery underbrush, wet stone and wild berries. The palate is round and pliant, with a tactile mineral edge up front as ripe orchard fruits ride a stream of vibrant acidity. It finishes energetic yet potent, leaving a slight tart cranberry concentration that pinches at the cheeks. The Dianthus is packed full of character."
ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 91 POINTS - "The 2024 Rosé Dianthus is a deeper, more complex counterpoint to the introductory Patelin bottling, crafted from Mourvèdre and drawing inspiration from Tavel. The nose is loaded with lush red fruit aromas combined with savory, herbal accents that retain admirable poise and clarity. The palate is both textural and energetic, culminating in a succulent, grippy and fragrant finish. It's a blend of 44% Mourvedre, 43% Grenache, 9% Counoise and 4% Cinsaut."
