History,
It's the fourth release in Springbank's Local Barley series, and once again those distillers in Campbeltown have produced a cracking single malt! This one was made using optic barley from High Cattadale Farm, with the spirit matured in 80% bourbon casks and 20% sherry casks.
Tasting Notes,
Nose: Biscuit-y malt and freshly ground nutmeg, backed up by spicy peat and salted peanuts.
Palate: Waves of rich honey start things off, followed by more baking deliciousness in the shape of Victoria sponge. Rye crackers, apricot and quince. A good waft of toasty smoke brings it all together.
Finish: Macadamia nuts, pear, sultana and coastal air.
