A cherry eau-de-vie from Alfred Schladerer's Alte Schwarzwälder Hausbrennerei — the family distillery founded in 1844 in Staufen, in the Black Forest of Baden, Germany. Distilled from sweet Black Forest cherries (Schwarze Schüttler, Benjaminler, and Dollenseppler varieties) grown at 200-300 meters in the foothills, fermented as whole-fruit mash and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, then reduced to drinking strength with Black Forest spring water — no added aromas, no added sugar, 100% natural.
Nose: A highly aromatic cherry bouquet — intense fresh cherry with fine almond and cherry-stone notes, hints of muscat, cinnamon, clove, and dark chocolate.
Palate: Powerful, full-bodied, soft, and round — cherry and black pepper with almond-like nuances.
Finish: Long and lingering, with a touch of peppery spice.
ABV: 42% (84 Proof)
