Owner/winemaker Curt Schalchlin has rapidly made a name for himself within the "Cal-Rhone Community" as one of the best producers of Syrahs, Grenaches, and blends. His Groundwork label presents one heck of a value, and while that is no slouch, the Sans Liege wines really showcase his abilities.
JEB DUNNUCK 90 POINTS - "The 2020 Offering is a charming, delicious wine in the vintage, based on 44% Grenache, 36% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre. Ripe red and blackberry fruits, some peppery herbs, medium body, ripe tannins, and a rounded mouthfeel all make for a delicious red that’s up-front and ready to go. Drink bottles over the coming 3-5 years or so."
