WINE ADVOCATE 93 - 95 POINTS - "The 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets is shaping up beautifully, unfurling in the glass with scents of peonies, sweet berry fruit, blood orange, smoke and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, lively and perfumed, it's velvety and charming, with melting tannins and an ample core of fruit. This is the highest in alcohol of all of Rossignol's 2019s, but it appears to be seamlessly integrated. Rossingol began picking in mid-September, and he has produced a lovely set of wines: rich and gourmand, they're dramatic and elegantly muscular, with ripe fruit tones, powdery tannins and succulent acids. Now comfortably ensconced in his new winery on the Beaune périphérique, Nicolas has arrived at a mature style that's much more classical than his attention-grabbing aesthetic of yesteryear. Today, as I've written before, he numbers among the Côte de Beaune's most serious producers."
BURGHOUND 92 - 94 POINTS - " An exuberantly spicy and softly floral nose combines notes of red and dark currant with those of plum and a touch of menthol. The rich and solidly concentrated middle weight flavors exhibit more obvious minerality on the unusually powerful finish. This classy and sophisticated effort possesses a gorgeous texture and is a wine that should improve over the next 12 to 15 years. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*"
