Nestled between the Grand Cru villages of Verzy and Verzenay in Champagne is the new project of Matthieu Godmé-Guillaume. A passionate third-generation winemaker, Matthieu is dedicated to crafting cuvées that are pure expressions of the region’s nutrient-rich soils. Matthieu began his project in 2017 when he moved home to take over production of a few plots previously farmed by his father. In doing so, Matthieu has been able to farm grapes and vinify wines his own way, all organically and without any additives, all expressing great energy and mineral-density.

A blend of 74% Chardonnay and 26% Pinot Noir grapes all of which are and organically farmed. The lion's share of the blend is sourced from the estate's mature (30 to 40-year-old) vines in the Grand Cru Villages of Verzy and Versenay with the remainder drawn from Premier Cru hamlet of Villers-Marmery. The must was all fermented with native yeast with roughly a third of the blend fermented in old barrels with the rest in steel. A low SO2 regime was employed during elevage along with no fining or filtration. After bottling the Champagne was aged a minimum of 30 months on lees in bottle before disgorgement.
