What do you get when you combine the palate of a Master Sommelier with arguably the premiere winegrowing family in Monterey? You get a Syrah that brings a smile to our faces year after year!

Luli represents a partnership formed by Sara Floyd and the Pisoni Family. Sara Floyd is a Master Sommelier with many years of food and wine experience. She was only the 10th woman in the world to earn that title, and has also worked alongside the likes of Larry Stone and Wolfgang Puck. The Pisoni Family is known for their eponymous vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands and for Pisoni Estate and Lucia wines. It was Gary Pisoni who refused to listen to those who doubted that high-quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah could be grown on the slopes of the Santa Lucia Mountains. Flash forward to today and the Pisoni Family are regarded as the best growers in the county!

Deciding they would make a great partnership and noting the shortage of handcrafted wines at reasonable prices, they set out to create a new line of wines for this niche. To achieve this, Floyd and the Pisoni Family focus on purchasing grapes from multiple sustainably farmed vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands from liked-minded growers. The vines are well-trained, carry low yields and are planted to a variety of different clones in well drained soils. These factors, combined with the fog and cool winds of the Santa Lucia Highlands provide wonderful growing conditions for Syrah.

Year after year, this is one of our favorite Syrahs for the money. Due to the fires in surrounding counties in 2020, Sarah and the Pisonis opted not to produced a wine that year, as the quality would not be up to par. But flash-forward to 2021, and you get a vintage that critics and consumers are raving about! In fact, respected critic Jeb Dunnuck rated this beauty at 92-points, and calls this "voluptuous" and even wrote "there's a hint of Côte Rôtie in its floral aromatics." That's quite a large statement from a noteworthy critic for a wine with a small price tag!

Want a new wine for that steak, pot roast, lamb, or gyros?...Then look no further!

JEB DUNNUCK 92 POINTS - "As to the 2021 Syrah Santa Lucia Highlands, it's a classic Syrah from California with its peppery, smoky black fruit, game, violet, and spring flower-driven aromatics. There's a hint of Côte Rôtie in its floral aromatics, but it brings classic Cali fruit and texture on the palate, with a voluptuous mouthfeel, solid underlying tannins, and outstanding length."
