This ten acre, valley floor Chardonnay block sits a quarter mile east of the Langtry house on fairly shallow, gravelly clay loam soils with high magnesium and low nutrient content that limits vine vigor and crop levels. Very cool nights allow for excellent acidity and rich, fully mature fruit with abundant flavor and character.
The Genevieve Chardonnay has notes of vanilla, toasted nuts, almond blossoms, honey and golden delicious apple. This wine adds flavors of honeycrisp apple, nutmeg and cinnamon. Reminds us of homemade apple pie with a round, creamy finish.
