South Africa Mhoba SAW (South African Whisky) edition from Mhoba Rum Distillery was produced from fresh-pressed cane juice, long-fermented with wild yeast and distilled on the artisanal distillery's custom pot stills in 2018. The distillate was placed in two South African whisky casks for six years. Aged and bottled entirely at the distillery, it is presented at 59% ABV. There are only two casks of this expression in existence, 470 bottles total, a Holmes Cay exclusive.
Tasting notes
Mint leaf and caramel on the nose with vanilla, brine and sichuan peppercorn on the tongue. On the finish spun sugar and a hint of eucalyptus.
