In November 2012, this rum was distilled in the Diamond Distillery's historic, single-wooden pot still and put in used bourbon and whiskey barrels. This still was originally employed at the Versailles Distillery in the 17th century before being moved to the Diamond Distillery where it continues to produce iconic rums.
In 2013, it was shipped to the UK where it continued to mature until it was shipped to the US for bottling as part of my Single Cask Strength Collection in August 2021.

This rum was distilled the single wooden pot still that was originally put into service in the early 19th century on the Versailles Estate on the west bank of the Demerara River. Like the other wood stills at Diamond Estate it is made of greenheart wood, which is revered for its durability when exposed to elements such as moisture and heat, not to mention its resistance to rot and insects including termites. On top of the wooden pot, a copper gooseneck carries the alcohol rich vapor to retorts and the copper condenser.
