Pinot Noir takes the spotlight in the Oregon wine world, that's just a fact. And when it comes to their white wines, Pinot Gris is center stage. That being said, it is this producer's Chardonnay has stunned us the past few vintages, and we think it's been the best white from Oregon in several years! Named for winemaker Veronique Drouhin-Boss' son, Arthur is produced entirely from estate fruit and is handmade at DDO's landmark gravity flow winery in the Dundee Hills. Their Chardonnay vines were planted in 1992 and are 100% Dijon clones, some of the oldest such plantings in Oregon.

ANTONIO GALLONI'S VINOUS MEDIA 93 POINTS - "Despite losing part of their Chardonnay production to frost, Drouhin and Bell are even more excited about 2022. Bell explained how a “cool and wet spring going into June followed by moderate temperatures in the summer, and an October where we were blessed with the most unbelievable conditions, no more than 78-80 degrees.” The 2022 Chardonnay Arthur was the only wine I could taste from 2022, but it showed the vintage’s merits."

"The 2022 Chardonnay Arthur is wonderfully perfumed, blending incense, ground ginger, lemon oils and crushed yellow apples. This model of elegance offers silken textures ushering in pretty ripe peach complemented by tropical citrus and a hint of vanilla bean. A resonance of lime zest and liquid stone lingers as this tapers off with incredible length yet also freshness. Spellbinding, but be aware that production is down by 50% due to the spring frost."
