JOHN GILMAN 93+ POINTS - "The les Coteaux du Levant Bourgueil from Jacky and Jean-Philippe Blot is made from vines in excess of fifty years of age and raised in a combination of cement vats and used barrels. The 2020 version comes in at a cool 12.5 percent octane in this warm summer and offers up a beautifully pure and very refined nose of red and black cherries, menthol, cigar wrapper, a beautiful base of soil tones, smoke and just a touch of cedar form the older barrels. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and soil-driven, with a lovely core of fruit, fine-grained tannins, good acids and grip and a long, focused and seamlessly balanced finish. This is outstanding young Bourgueil!"
