Sangiovese w/ small amount of Cab Sauv/Merlot/Petit Verdot

Since founder Diego Molinari sold his iconic estate, Matthew Fioretti has been guiding the winemaking and introducing new, innovative wines for the Montalcino region. Technical precision is his forte, and it shows in the Grammatica, which is sleek and fresh in feel, but with a layer of long, spicy, darkly red-toned fruit that deepens the profile relative to Cerbaiona's easy-drinking V.D.T. (Vino da Tavola). There's little room to hide mistakes in grape-growing and winemaking here: attention to detail on both accounts makes this an impressive and delicious wine despite of a challenging year like 2023!

"The 2023 Rosso Grammatica is exotic in the glass, with a wild bouquet of tangerine zest, cherry herbal tea and cedar shavings. A pretty inner sweetness on the entry leads to a cascade of rose-infused strawberry, while nuanced tannins add contrast toward the close. It tapers off classically dry and precise." - Eric Guido, VINOUS MEDIA

"Made entirely from Sangiovese and first produced in 2020, the 2023 Grammatica includes the estate’s press wine and was raised in cement, with roughly 10,000 bottles produced. It pours a reflective ruby hue and has a pure, attractive nose of black and red berries, violets, and fresh earth. Medium-bodied, it is supple and inviting, with ripe tannins, refreshing acidity, and a clean, easy finish that makes it a terrific entry point into the estate’s more contemporary style of transparency..." - Audrey Frick, JEB DUNNUCK

"...Aged in third- and fourth-use oak before resting in cement and glass ahead of release, the wine prioritizes clarity and balance. The 2023 vintage delivers appealing volume and texture that remain finely understated, supported by a quietly confident structure that makes the wine especially well suited to the table. Production is 10,350 bottles." - Monica Larner, WINE ADVOCATE
