From Brave New Spirits' Cask Masters series — which celebrates each step of single malt production from barley to bottle — this single cask Teaninich was distilled in 2016 on the banks of the River Alness in the Northern Highlands and bottled at 51.5% cask strength. Teaninich's grassy, citric, spirit-forward style takes on lovely depth from cask maturation: orchard fruit and lemon zest over honeyed malt, vanilla oak, and a gentle cereal sweetness, finishing clean and lively. A well-priced independent bottling from a distillery whose malt rarely appears on its own.
