A single grain Scotch from North British — Edinburgh's historic grain distillery, founded in 1885 and one of the workhorses of famous blends — matured for 13 years in a second-fill sherry butt and bottled at cask strength by Brave New Spirits for its Cask Masters series. The long sherry maturation transforms the typically light grain spirit into something rich and unexpected: pitted prunes, demerara sugar, and oak spice over a silky, oily texture, with vanilla fudge, gentle oak tannin, and a long, warming finish. A fascinating grain-whisky deep cut for sherry lovers.
