Albert Jane' makes this "cosmetic-free" wine from Montsant mountain region, a Mediterranean wilderness dotted with old vineyards of Carinena and Garnacha. Vinification is traditional (small wooden press), there is a very prudent use of oak 'a good barrel is a barrel you cannot taste' says Albert, it should 'help the wine express itself not actually add its own mark to the juice'. All wines are then bottled without fining or filtration..
Driven by Carinena (firm tannins and dark, spicy fruit), Garnacha plays a supporting role (expansive, juicy red fruit and soft texture). You might find lifted aromas of violet, black cherry, raspberry, herbs & subtle oak, with flavors that bring in middle and bottom notes of black fruits, plum, fennel and dark chocolate. Pure and delicious!
