The Galilee (or Galil) is the most northern, and generally considered the best, appellation in Israel. The highest quality area within the appellation is the Golan Heights (or simply the Golan), the coldest region in Israel. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau rise from 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level to 1,200 meters (3,900 feet) and receive snowfall in the winter. Golan Heights Winery is located in the town of Katzrin in the central Golan.

The 2018 Yarden Pinot Gris is produced entirely from Pinot Gris grapes grown in two vineyards in the northern Golan Heights. Widely grown in Alsace, France, the variety is also popular in northeastern Italy, where it is known as Pinot Grigio. About half of the wine was fermented in large oval oak casks.

The 2018 Yarden Pinot Gris features green apple, nashi, lime, pomelo, white peach and tropical fruit notes, balanced with flint and floral characters. This attractive medium-bodied wine exhibits satisfying flavor coupled with freshness and drinkability.
