The Bucher Vineyard is located about 1.5 miles north of the Williams Selyem winemaking facility on Westside Road. The clones planted include 777, 115, 37, and Pommard 4, with an Arbuckle gravely loam soil.
Dense and compelling on the nose, notes of raspberry compote combine with aromas of earth and terra cotta. Interlaced with these deep and brooding notes are hints of fern and fresh herbs, while wood spices such as nutmeg offer additional complexity. Creamy and smooth on the palate, the red fruit compote character saturates the palate. Grown on steep hillsides, the concentration of the wine seems to consume the tannins to offer a harmonious, round, and satisfying mouthfeel.
