This special cuvee is a selection of barrels from own-rooted vines at the LIVE certified Dion vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains, planted 1988. Hand-harvested and whole cluster pressed, then fermented and aged 18 months in French oak. Bottled without fining or
filtration, only minimum effective SO2 used.
ANTONIO GALLONI'S VINOUS MEDIA 93 POINTS - "Vincent Fritzsche did a fantastic job with the 2023 vintage. Fritzsche described a compressed season, recalling a “late spring, late budbreak and then record time to bloom.” Most of his sources are located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, which was one of the most successful areas in this vintage."
"The 2023 Chardonnay Tardive is spicy and expressive in the glass, mixing crushed green apples with lemon oil and nuances of sage. It is soothingly round, with lime-inflected orchard fruits and a reverberating core of zesty acidity. The 2023 tapers off clean and poised, showing excellent refinement as a crunch of minerality punctuates the experience."
