JASPER MORRIS 91 - 93 POINTS - "100% whole bunch vinification on fruit from two plots making up half a hectare, with light soil which drains well. Powerful mid crimson purple. A definite peppery aspect here. Very perfumed, roses and peonies, taking over from the initial pepper. But the white spice returns at the finish. It will take time for the sweet fruit to triumph over the drier finish, which it will. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted: November 2023."
VINOUS 91 - 93 POINTS - "The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin "Cuvée 1859" was blended in the Ostrea until 2019 and is named after the first two parcels owned by the Trapet family. It is 60% echalas and 100% whole bunches. It has heart-warming purity on the nose: Morello cherries and blackcurrant, very precise and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins, fresh and very saline towards the finish. Quite Morey-like in terms of backbone - real length here. Excellent."
