Tor Kenward spent 27 years as a senior executive with Beringer, walking every corner of Napa and Sonoma, finding the best vineyards to help them create some of the top wines in the region. Two legends of the industry saw that Tor had a keen eye for quality grapes and strongly suggested that Tor make his own wine. Tor took their advice, and decided he would get only the best grapes, no matter what the cost. For this wine, Tor acquired grapes from the Beckstoffer family’s To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. This is one of the “grand cru” Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards in the Valley, whose fruit goes to other noteworthy producers such as Alpha Omega, Cliff Lede, Paul Hobbs, Realm and Schrader.
