An American classic from Charles Jacquin et Cie. of Philadelphia — the cordial house founded in 1884 by French émigré Charles Jacquin, and family-owned for three generations. Rock & Rye's tradition traces to the early 1800s, when the preparation of rye whiskey, rock candy sugar, and fruit was a pharmacy staple and rumored cold remedy; Jacquin's formalized its version in 1933, and the recipe has remained unchanged since — rye whiskey, melted rock candy, and candied Florida oranges suspended in the bottle.
