The 2007 VERO is the final blend of the 10 best clones from the original 500, as mentioned in the opening paragraph.Notes: Midnight electric purple black. And that was just the color. It was like one of those art-house cinematographers decided to get with a Michelin threestar joint to define both aubergine and film noir in a liquid form. And the smell and taste were ethereal in their mindblowing expression of Malbec. First the nose: blackberry, nutmeg, violets and mixed dark floals with an interestingnutty, almost coconuttish twist in the background. The palate dusted beautiful cocoa mist over sweet dark berry fruits seasoned with wood spice zest.VERO in Italian means “true”, and is a tribute to the grandparents of winemaker Jose Luis Biondolillo, who arrived to Argentina in the 19th Century from Italy and settled in Mendoza to start what is now five generations in winemaking.
