This bottle comes with a special label design and bamboo box rather than the usual cardboard carton and was only sold to the Japanese market for a short period.
First launched in 2006 and from the lesser known of the two Suntory owned distilleries (the other the mighty Yamazaki) and was at one point in the 1980's the largest distillery in the world! The 18 year old is aged in 1st and 2nd fill European oak.
Nose: Honey drizzled over green apple, herbal pear, aromatic and floral with jasmine & ginger spice, subtle smoke, grassy, cereal, new leather, smoked apricot.
Palate: Salty apricot, stewed apples and pears infused with ginger, spiced vanilla, melon, silky cocoa, breakfast cereal.
Finish: Grassy, herbal with melon, ginger, subtle smoke, salty notes and vanilla oak.
