Our buyers tasted the 2025 Rose from Famille Sumeire and were immediately taken with it, preferring it to more expensive options. We happily chose this refreshing, dry Rose as our Wine of the Month for August and found it to be the perfect summer sipper!
Dry French rosés have become a staple for many folks this time of year and we are all about the pink-- these wines are refreshing and clean, lush with ripe fruit flavors yet keen, lean and scintillating with appropriate acidity and body. Le M de Sumeire is certainly in this camp!
This is the type of hot-weather wine we look for with the quality all the way up on Cloud 9 while the price is certainly down to earth.
The Sumeire family traces their roots back to the year 1238 in a commune in the Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur region in the southeast of France. Their involvement in the wine trade starts in the late 1800s and the family has kept their traditions going ever since.
Méditérranée is an IGP title covering wines that are produced in the southeast coast of France, roughly corresponding to the Provence wine region but also includes a part of the Rhône Valley. The IGP shares its land with multiple important AOC appellations such as Bandol and Côtes de Provence.
This Rose is an absolute steal and one to buy with confidence and enjoy during the warm months of late summer and early fall. Enjoy!
The pale, salmon-pink color is inviting to the eye as attractive scents of peach preserves, mixed stone fruits, mineral, and citrus invite further inspection. In the mouth, this wine is dry and refreshing with ripe stone fruit flavors, white peach and apricot, joined by hints of minerality, citrus and strawberry on the finish. Pair with appropriate summer fare: aperitifs, seafood, sushi, charcuterie, salads, goat cheese, patios, jacuzzis, friends.
