Limited edition, annually released American single malt whiskey produced by St. George Spirits in Alameda, California
100% malted barley; a combination of two-row malted barley varieties roasted at varying levels and unroasted Bamberg malted barley smoked over beech and alder wood
Distilled in copper pot stills
Lot 26 aged 5 to 11.5 years with an average age of 6.5 years; non-age statement
Aged in a combination of 25 casks including ex-bourbon, shaved and re-toasted French oak barrels, ex-Sauternes-style California wine casks, and casks that previously help apple brandy
Aromas of cocoa, brown butter, marzipan, ripe plum, campfire smoke, and saline lead to a palate of marmalade, buttery pastry, tahini, dark chocolate, and warm cedar Non-chill filtered: 43% ABV
Lot 26, St. George’s second release under the now legally regulated banner of American Single Malt, carries on the distillery’s legacy of innovative distilling (master distiller Lance Winters released St. George’s first single malt over 25 years ago). After selecting 25 casks from the distillery’s vast whiskey “library,” St. George embarked on a nuanced aging and blending process that has coalesced in a richer, more brooding whiskey than last year’s release that begs for fall and winter sipping.
