A German herbal liqueur (kräuterlikör) in the medieval monastic tradition, produced by Hardenberg-Wilthen AG — the Lower Saxony distilling house whose roots trace back to around 1700, still controlled by the Hardenberg family and today one of Germany's largest spirits producers. Built on 43 carefully selected herbs, fruits, roots, and flowers — including wormwood, buckbean, and the house's proprietary "Hog Root" — macerated and blended in the traditional manner.
Appearance: Deep brick-red.
Nose: Orange and dried fruit.
Palate: Cola-like spice, cocoa, and bitter chocolate — light and mouthwatering.
Finish: A lingering herbal lilt.
ABV: 36.7% (73.4 Proof)
