This natural red leaves the funky flaws behind, giving you a pure, primary experience of fermented grapes! La Vaquita is driven by Malbec, with its purple-fruited profile and vinous, medium body, though it's been made with cofermented Viognier in the past. Its soft, youthful fruit character finishes dry and gently firm, with a lightly savory edge, all making it a perfect wine to chill down with some hearty snacks, picnic lunches and the outdoor grill! Serve around

Santa Julias's line of 'natural' wines has been one of our South American staples. It comes from the Zuccardi family, who make some of Argentina's most exciting wines, reflecting more of their high-altitude home than the faddish wines that aimed for "rich and oaky." Santa Julia is their super-value lineup, and the Naturals are made like the classic Beaujoulais producers: some whole clusters, maybe even some Viognier to bring levity, and no added sulfites, even just before bottling. But rather than off-the-rails funky fermentations, they have a clean style that let's the fruit purity come forward.

Santa Julia puts 'natural' on the label, so you might wonder what that means! For them it means: it's organically farmed; fermented with native yeasts, with no addition of sulfites (which is normally used to help protect wines from spoilage); made using only stainless-steel containers for purity of fruit; and it's unfiltered and unclarified (vegan friendly).
