A lemon liqueur from Domaine Roulot of Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune — the estate founded in 1820 and led since 1989 by Jean-Marc Roulot, the son, grandson, and great-grandson of distillers, whose family distilling tradition dates to 1866 and who remains as celebrated for his Meursault wines as for his rare eaux-de-vie and liqueurs. Le Citron is crafted from organic Sicilian lemons, combining maceration of the zests with distillation of the whole fruit, then lightly sweetened — explosive fruit intensity balanced by the noble bitterness of the zest.
Appearance: Translucent pale yellow with subtle golden highlights; silky viscosity.
Nose: Delicate, fresh, lively citrus — with aeration, noble zest bitterness, discreet florals, and a distinctive Burgundian minerality.
Palate: Round and well-balanced — vibrant citrus acidity and explosive fruit tempered by elegant bitterness, silky on the tongue.
Finish: Long, persistent lemony freshness.
Serve: Well chilled (12-13°C) as a digestif, or alongside citrus desserts.
ABV: 35% (70 Proof)
