WINE ADVOCATE 90 POINTS - "The 2012 Recuerdo Malbec, from young vines in Vista Flores in the Uco Valley, has a complex bouquet of dried flowers, raspberries, blueberries and sweet vanilla. This pure Malbec from stony and sandy soils is aged in mostly third-use oak barrels with some wine kept in vats in order to preserve the fruit and freshness of the wine. The palate is medium-bodied, with great acidity and freshness, pure, focused flavors and great length. Superb for the price. Bravo!"

Recuerdo is an estate label for the innovative Vines of Mendoza project. The property covers over 750 acres in the famed Vista Flores sub-zone in the Uco Valley of Mendoza. Santiago Achaval from Achaval-Ferrer has been guiding the program since the first plantings in 2006. Want to own your own winery in Argentina, but don't know where to start? Buy a "micro-winery" from The Vines of Mendoza. Santiago Achaval and his team oversee the production of 360 small wines under this one roof—all from different small stakeholders. The larger Vines of Mendoza project is something like a laboratory with hundreds of variations of what the estate can do. Recuerdo is the "house brand," but what a house! With Santiago Achaval behind the wines we knew the Recuerdo would be elegant, refined, and beautiful Malbec.
