PIERRE YVES COLIN MOREY 2019 BEAUNE CLOS ST DESIRE BLANC

Making a mark in Cote de Beaune right now we find Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. With a talent for exceptional winemaking, Colin-Morey is notable for producing stunning, intuitive Bourgogne Blanc, which rely heavily on terroir and site-specific expressions of the Chardonnay varietal. Pierre Yves honed his winemaking skills working for his father, Marc Colin, and after inheriting 6 hectares of vineyards in St. Aubin, he quickly set about launching his own domain in 2006. Almost immediately his wines were a tour de force. Having also worked as a négociant he’s been able to augment the grapes he grows (70% of his grapes are those that he grows) with high quality grapes acquired from leading premier and grand crus vineyards such as Chevalier Montrachet. He opts for larger demi-muld for aging to limit the influence of the oak. The results are spectacular, natural wines rich with minerality and character.
