La Réserve des deux Frères refers to Jean-Pierre and Thierry Usseglio, the two brothers at the head of the Domaine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It has been in existence since the 2000 vintage and is a fine selection of finished wines. The terroir is stony and sandy with a grape variety composed of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Aromas of red fruits (cherries, raspberries) are delicately felt on the nose, followed by aromas of spices and garrigue as well. On the palate, it is round, crisp and elegant. Notes of laurel, thyme and rosemary, especially blackberries, make it an ideal accompaniment to beef bourguignon, Provençal-style kidneys or a good cheese.
