Chateau Pertois-Lebrun Les Chetillons #16 Blanc de Blanc Grand Cru 2016 is an extraordinary Champagne that embodies the essence of its exceptional terroir. This cuvée is a blend of two distinct plots, "Chétillon" and "Chétillon de Haut," each contributing unique characteristics to the wine. The south and east-facing vineyards, classified as Grand Cru, bask in optimal sun exposure.
The vineyard boasts Chardonnay vines that are more than 45 years old, adding depth and complexity to the grapes. The viticulture practices employed are environmentally-friendly, with a focus on organic fertilizers, treatments, aromatherapy, and mechanical procedures inspired by biodynamic principles.
VINOUS 96 POINTS - "The 2016 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Chétillons No. 16 Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Grand Cru was picked from 45-year-old vines in the eponymous parcel. Base wines were fermented in oak and stainless steel, roughly half and half. The wine spent just under seven years on lees. Subtle chalkiness spreads its freshness on the nose, assisted by lemon breeziness. Creamy mousse foams gently but persistently through a beautifully luminous dimension of chalk, referencing butter and lemon throughout—expansive, fresh, aromatic and encompassing. A gorgeous wine. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2024. Drink 2025-2045."
