VINOUS 96 POINTS - "The 2013 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Le Fond Du Bateau Chouilly No. 13 Grand Cru was picked from 50-year-old vines in the eponymous parcel in Chouilly, facing east. 53% of the base wine fermented in stainless steel, the rest in oak and the final wine spent just under nine years on lees. Tender chalk, lemon and shortcrust are creamy on the nose, projecting elegance and class. The palate is exquisitely lithe, with lemony, chalky brightness held aloft by the finest foam, backed by salty, rich, buttery shortcrust pastry, uniting richness and precision, chalky depth and salty creaminess. Exquisitely youthful with tones of mileage. Lovely, lasting and so very elegant with all the precision and finesse of the year. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2023. Drink 2024-2050."
JAMES SUCKLING 94 POINTS - "Restrained lemon, lemon curd, broom flowers and honey. Fine, intense mousse with good length and very chalky flavors and texture, yet balanced at the end by a refined, polished finish. Medium body. Good savory and nutty aftertaste. Drink or hold."
