ORGANICALLY FARMED
WINE ADVOCATE 92+ POINTS - "The 2022 Pegaso Zeta fermented in different materials and also matured in different vessels: oak, stainless steel and clay... This wine has a lot of finesse and really shows incredibly well for what the vintage looked like early on. It is perhaps a more Mediterranean wine, with lots of aromatic herbs and a more extroverted personality. The 15% alcohol was unnoticeable and balanced by a pH of 3.3 and 5.84 grams of acidity. 28,008 bottles were produced. It was bottled between June and October 2024."
This is a delicious Garnacha with a serious streak, coming from the Sierra de Gredos in central Spain. Yet another one of Telmo Rodriguez's projects, it's sourced from bush-vines that are over 60 years of age, planted higher altitudes to avoid the intense heat of the lower-lying areas. This vintage has a mouthfilling, rustic, ripe red-fruited profile from the above-average temperatures that year. The characteristic fresh, inner acidity from the Gredos Mountain climate and subtle garnacha spice (like white pepper) keep things energetic, balancing Garnacha's generous character. This is a fantastic partner with grilled meats and veggies or Paella. Fermented with native yeast in large neutral oak vats, then aged 6 months in 500 liter French oak barrels (none new). Unfiltered but fined with egg whites.
