The favored beverage of King Louis XV, this aristocratically hedonistic and spectacularly delicious nectar made in part from individual berries (mostly furmint, plus in this case some harslevelu and other local grapes zeta and koverszolo) affected by botrytis or "noble rot" that shrivels, concentrates, and transforms the flavor of the grapes. This kind of balance between high sugar, high acid, and low alcohol are what makes Tokaji wines magical. You'll find notes of apricot, marmalade, honey, peach and saffron, followed by a long, smooth elegant finish. Needless to say, it is decadent and splendid! This wine will sing with blue cheeses, chocolate, goose liver pate, and even potato chips. Treat your guests and yourself to a wine made for a king!
