2023 marks the 5th vintage for Charlie Smith and it is the most dramatic Chardonnay Patria has yet crafted from this high elevation site. Uninoculated primary fermentation took almost 10 days to commence and 60 days to finish.

ANTONIO GALLONI 93 POINTS - "The 2023 Chardonnay Charlie Smith Vineyard is a powerful, phenolic wine with a ton of Moon Mountain character. Lemon confit, marzipan, sage, rosemary and white flowers lend quite a bit of nuance. This is still coming together in bottle, but it is a very pretty and expressive wine."

JEB DUNNUCK 93 POINTS - "From vines farmed by Phil Coturri in the Moon Mountain district of Sonoma and aged 16 months sur lees in 33% new French oak with full malolactic fermentation, the 2023 Chardonnay Charlie Smith offers orchard fruits, honeyed flowers, spice, brioche, and even a hint of orange. It's medium-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, and nicely integrated acidity. It's terrific today, yet it should keep for 7-8 years in cold cellars. Drink 2025-2033."
